As others stated above, it's more like 2hrs to create a new character and farm the necessary hero points for an elite spec (including at least 30min to click through all the reward chests for levelling up with lvl60-boosts and Tomes of Knowledge).
Do we know for sure how many hero points it'll take to unlock the full elite spec? Advertisement Coins. 0 coins.
Elite skill completed with all Hero points done Most meta builds for most classes except for Guardian (or Ele on staff builds) will require the full elite spec, no need for all the hero points. For the meta builds you can look on metabattle , those are decent enough nowadays.
2nd: Create a new character for the elite spec that you want the skins from. 3rd: Level him to 80 with Scrolls and Tomes without spending a single Hero-Point. 4th: Max out only the elite spec with the 300+ Hero Points that you get from levelup Fin.
While they lose many of the protective benefits of death shroud, they control the battlefield by afflicting foes while bolstering allies and granting barrier . — In-game description. Scourge is an elite specialization for the necromancer unlocked with the Path of Fire expansion. Instead of using life force as a second health pool, scourges
No news yet. For the record HoT specs required 400 on launch. They might do something similar and inflate PoF elite specs even more but make PoF hero challenges give even more hero points (like 20 points per challenge but 500-800 to unlock the specialization). Then again I remember a lot of people being really frustrated with how elite specs in
Elite Specializations. They take 250 hero points to fully unlock, but, expansion hero challenges give you 10 hero points per versus 1 point per in central Tyria, so unlocking them is not nearly as daunting as it sounds. I still see HP trains almost nightly in HoT, I'm sure they are as frequent in PoF too.
If you have the appropriate expansions, finding a HP train is way faster then wvw. WVW will take a considerable amount of time as each skirmish chest only holds 6 testimonies. You need 250 HP per elite spec needing 42 skirmish chests per elite spec. That would mean finishing mithril in the reward track.
You can't just go get the Raptor, and immediately unlock a new Elite Specialization; Elite Specializations require Hero Points, either from Core Tyria (1 HP per Hero Challenge), or either of the expansions (10 HP per Hero Challenge).
Each one is 10 points, 25 for each elite spec because they all need 250. So 750 points in total. And for the first toon, just play the game I guess, is it too much work to expirience the game at least once and get your hero points normally? Edited April 21, 2023 by jason.1083
Posted March 15, 2020. Definitely yes. With how hero points currently work, it is too easy to unlock the new stuff. I already have enough hero points to unlock the next elite spec on my engineer the day it comes online, which shouldn't be a thing imo.
To me, we already have way point unlocks, and level 80 boosts. Which I also consider *convenience*. If that stuff 'makes GW2 pay to win', then it already is by that definition. How is the Black Lion Hero Point Unlock Scroll any different and/or worse?
They have core class fully unlocked, MAYBE unlocked first point into some elite spec (you know, that one which gives you gimmick and weapon), maybe one or two traits and thats it. This is not to say that core classes are non viable but they are straight up weaker. Unlocking those specializations require hero points, 250 to be exact.
