Re: Driving from Canberra to the Great Ocean Road. August is the middle of winter, so expect cool to cold temperatures (around 10-15 degrees maximum), but with a wind chill considerably colder. I think your biggest problem with August is the lesser day light hours. The sun would rise about 8am and set about 5pm.
