The AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8 VR was the first fast Nikon telezoom to combine a sonic wave driven autofocus with Nikon's optical stabilization system (VR). At the time of this review the successor of this lens is already available, which leads to a noticeably reduced price level for used copies of the 70-200VR lens. After using it for a few days, my Nikon 70-200 f/2.8G VR II seemed heavy like a brick. The design makes it feel lighter although this lens is just 80 grams lighter than my 70-200mm. The diameter of the barrel of the lens near the mount is narrower and gradually broader to its end, whereas the 70-200 is the same diameter throughout. ERGONOMICS, BUILD AND IN-USE Ergonomically, the AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/4G ED VR is nearly perfect. Much lighter and quite a bit narrower than the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II, it sits perfectly in my hand and can be used for hours without fatigue (I am 6’1β€³ or 185cm tall and have quite large hands).

70-200 S or FL & FTZ ii on Z9. Aug 20, 2022. I can pick up used versions of the above for Β£1,500 for the z mount and Β£750 for the f mount. In the real world is the much appreciable difference between the two. Ideally I would get z mount version but at half the price I could put the money towards other glass if I go the f mount version.
I know you have high regard for Nikon AF-S 70-200mm F/4G and opine that it fares better than Nikon AF-S 70-200mm F/2.8G ED VR II in some cases. But I have not come across your take on Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2. At same price as Nikon AF-S 70-200mm F/4G, do you think this Tamron is a better option?

#nikonz70200 #nikon #nikonz7 #It’s a little late, but we can finally put it out. A telephoto is arguably a lens every photography should have in their arsena

I have Nikon D500 & D7200 bodies and Nikkor 70-200 E FL VR, 200-500 F5.6E and 300mm F2.8 G ED VRII lenses, plus others. I also have Nikon TC-14E MkII, MkIII & TC-20E MkIII. When I use my 300mm F2.8G ED VRII lens on my D7200, I need an AFFT figure of +20 to align/mate this combination together. aBGs9E.
